He was predeceased by: his father Dr. Lawrence Ferlan; and his brother Michael. He is survived by: his mother Joan Ferlan; his siblings, Paul (Becky Ewing) of Charlottesville, VA, Mary (Ed Erway) of Lexington, KY, Virginia of Windsor, CT, Katherine Jackson (Andrew) of Woodbridge, CT and Mark of Bedford, NH; and his nieces and nephews, Stuart Erway, Michelle Erway Williams (Chris), Brett Erway (Kristin), Elizabeth, Michael, Gigi, Matt Machon, Claire, Emily, Drew Jackson, Jack and Audrey Ferlan.
