He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elizabeth "Girlie" Finley and Daniel Finley; his siblings, Deborah Finley-Justus, Daniel "Babe" Finley, Sharey Finley, Gilbert "Smokey" Finley, Terrence Finley, Rusty Finley, Roger Finley Sr., Jackie Finley, Chuck Finley and Randy Finley; his wife Bonnie Ferguson; his children, David Finley Jr., Donald "Duke" Finley, Michael Finley, Jalene Finley, Kara Finley and Jesse Finley; his grandchildren, Shayleen, Daniel, A'Nyssa, Makelika, Summer, Duke, Zalissa, Tyee, Coleestah, Owen, Jozlyn and Colin; his great grandchildren, Sophie, Andrew and Hadley; his daughter Bonnie; Pio Faivaai (Jalene), Jacquelyn Finley (Michael) and Tom Riley. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
