She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Donald Freeman and Roberta June Sparkman; her close friend Bob Hiatt; her sons, Donald Dunning (Melissa) and Bradley Dunning; her sister Janna Bollinger (Steve); and her grandsons, Joseph Dunning, Zachary Dunning and Nikolas Gainer.

Because Donna was concerned about the current state of Covid, she requested that no services be held as she would not want any of her friends and family to get sick.
