He was predeceased by : his parents, William Deveny and Ardell Deveny; his sister Mary Cline; his wife Pat Deveny; and his brother-in-law Gary Larkins.

He is survived by : his brother Jack Deveny (Jackie); his children, Kelly Pangborn (Jim), Kim Poole (Mike), Chris Deveny and Matt Deveny (Laurie); his grandchildren, Melissa Mast (Adam), Allison Pangborn, Jenni Poole, Steven Poole, Amy Poole, Courtney Deveny, Brittany Deveny, Ryan Deveny and Kellen Deveny; and his brother-in-law Greg Larkins (Laurie). He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

“It was with deep regret to learn of Jan's passing. I had known him from our high school days when we had many classes together. We often studied together after school at his mom's home near downtown Sacramento. I believe it was at the corner of 22nd and G Streets. On some Saturday nights, a bunch of us jumped into my car and cruised downtown's K and J Streets. FUN! I worked with him on our 2019 and 2023 class reunions. We often talked by phone over the past 4 years. Sadly, Bill Boudier”
