He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard J. Manka and Maureen Manka (Hunsaker); and his brother Darrell Manka. He is survived by: his wife Linda Smith (Sheppard); his close friend Linda Manka; his children, Melinda Miley (Mindy) and Richard James Manka III (Alison Manka); his grandchildren, Alyvia Miley and Deegan Miley; his siblings, Tim Manka, Carrell Manka (Barb), Kenneth Berry (Belita), Kathy Manka, Karen Erickson and Maureen Manka; his mother-in-law Marvel Sheppard; and his siblings-in-law, Kathy Wood (Dick), Annette Sheppard (Willie Brooks), Lori Oldfield (Ken) and Robert Sheppard (Kelli). He is also survived by nieces and nephews, great nephews and great nieces.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
