He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvel Sutherland and John Alexander Sutherland Sr.; and his brothers, Philip, George and David.
He is survived by: his son John A. Sutherland III; his wife Ruth; and his daughters, Elizabeth Healey and Louise Vittitow. He is also survived by many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and other loving family and friends.
Inurnment with Military Honors will be at Tahoma National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. at 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042. (In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ's Church in Federal Way https://www.ccfw.org or The Gideons International https://www.gideons.org).
