Kristin Kosiewicz Obituary

Kristin Kosiewicz, age 46, died unexpectedly Sept 26, 2021. She was born in New Mexico to Claudia and Stan Kosiewicz on June 25, 1975.
Kristin attended Los Alamos Public schools. She enjoyed her junior year as a Rotary Exchange student to Sale, New South Whales, Australia where she had close encounters with koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and wombats. While touring Ayers rock she ran into fellow Barranca Mesa, New Mexicans who were also touring the continent. Kristin thought the Great Barrier Reef was absolutely beautiful and provided fabulous diving. The reality of the potential danger was a bit frightening but also exciting.
As a youth, Kristin was an exceptional athlete. She excelled in gymnastics, competed as a ski racer, ran hurdles in middle and high school. At a young age, she joined a little league team where she loved to steal bases.
Kristin graduated from high school early and took another foreign exchange. This time she went to Liege, Belgium. While there she met a woman who had parachuted regularly into Nazi territory during WWII. By the end of that tour she spoke French fluently.
Kristin attended college at Texas Tech in Lubbock, TX where she pledged Delta Gamma sorority. She took a semester to attend classes in London, England concentrating on international business. She also spent a summer at UCLA attending classes. She received her bachelor's degree in business with an emphasis in International Marketing from the University of Washington, Seattle.
After college, Kristin and her companions traveled across Europe. She was a confident and adventurous traveler. She also completed a trip around the world by herself.
Kristin had artistic talents that showed in her paintings and photographs.
Kristin enjoyed nature. She and her dad enjoyed backpacking, skiing, collecting butterflies and star gazing together. After moving to the state of Washington she continued to explore the outdoors. She claimed to have discovered a new mushroom that would be named after her.
Kristin was an amazingly active person. Unfortunately, she suffered from fibromyalgia and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. The cause of death was declared as an accidental overdose of fentanyl.
Kristin is preceded in death by her stepfather Michael Peck. She is survived by her mother Claudia Peck of Kent, WA her father Stanley Kosiewicz and stepmother Amy Anderson of Los Alamos, NM and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
