It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harold Matson of Kirkland, Washington, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on May 6, 2026, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Harold departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Harold may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Harold leaves behind.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Matson; and his children, Kenneth Matson (Barbara), Ed Matson (Pam), Karin Clark (Steve) and Julie Lopez. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Barton Family Funeral Services (11630 Slater Ave NE #1a, Kirkland, WA 98034). A burial will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Tahoma National Cemetery (18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042).
