He was predeceased by: his parents, John Samuel Lindsey Hawes and Ruth Taylor; his wife Janet; his daughter Jaci; his sister Beryl Adams; his brother-in-law Hugh Adams; and his former wife Yoshiko Kumazawa.
He is survived by: his children, Taylor Hawes of Kirkland, WA, Grant Hawes of Stockton, CA, Marguerite Hawes of Stockton, CA and Darian Kroff of Dallas, TX. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
