He was predeceased by: his parents, Odzeal Marie (Lanier) and Eugene Edward Ritch; and his brother Richard. He is survived by: his brothers, James and Mike; and his daughters, Melanie Cribbs (Kyle), Robin Ritch and Dana Bearman (Mike).

“My wife and I are saddened to hear of Mike's passing. I was one of the athletes he coached in Tyee & Tillicum Junior High Schools, and Newport Senior High school in the 60s. I remember one football practice on a particularly warm day when one of the players fainted from the heat. Until then there was no water available during practice. From that day we had water available to us every practice. He always cared for us as people, not just athletes. Jim Hoftiezer”
