He is survived by : his wife Diane; his children, Lisa Gutherie (Sam), Carla Pharis (Brent), Chris Barton (Danni), Marilyn Bartsma (Sietse), Brandon Barton and Karina Misner (DJ); and his siblings, Alden Barton (Valerie), Ava Johnson, Doris Whiting and Beulah Johnson (Don). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.
