He was predeceased by: his wife Sandy; his parents, Aubra Dees and Nellie Dees (Ritter); and his brothers, Darrel Dees and Aubra Dees.

He is survived by: his children, Mark Petrie (Toni) and Lori Cameron; his grandchildren, Savana Damian (Beau), Tanner Petrie, Amanda Cameron and Megan DeLosAngeles (Odalis); his great grandchildren, Addisyn, Noah and Mason; and his sisters, Cheryl Dees, Audrey McKeever, Joyce Mauk, Oletta Osborn and Virginia Paddock. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
