She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Wiersma and Norma Wiersma (Meenderinck); and her brother Bob Wiersma (Sharon). She is survived by: her children, Jamie Van Soest (Larissa), Brandon Van Soest and Krista O'Byrne (Josh); her husband Don Smith; her siblings, Ron Wiersma (Judy), Carol Buwalda (Merle) and Ruth Reimer (Randy); her mother-in-law Margaret Van Soest; and her grandchildren, Maclay, Kassidy, Kensley, Tucker Van Soest, Kennedy and Kamryn O'Byrne. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
