As Susan Elizabeth departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Susan Elizabeth may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Susan Elizabeth leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Paulsen and Lois Paulsen. She is survived by: her husband George McCarthy; her daughter Brenna McCarthy; her stepchildren, Jude and Lochlan Birtwistle; her daughter Michelle McCarthy; and her siblings, Gary Paulsen (Dorothy) and Jan Opsvig (Todd).
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Greenwood Cemetery (605 E Wiser Lake Rd, Lynden, WA 98264). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Cornwall Church (4518 Northwest Ave, Bellingham, WA 98226).
Charitable donations to honor Susan may be made to Whatcom Hospice House.
