It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernon Jay Laninga in Lynden, Washington, who passed away on July 17, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Vernon Jay Laninga to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Laninga and Johanna Laninga (VanLoo); his wife Ann; and his son Paul. He is survived by: his children, Karla Laninga, Myra Warners (Gary) and Keith Laninga (Kerry); his grandchildren, Leah Grasmeyer (Ben), David Warners (Liza), Adam Warners, Hannah Warners, Kinsey Laninga and Kane Laninga; and his great grandchildren, Ford, Jade, Olivia Grasmeyer, Ellis and Margo Warners.
He really enjoyed singing with the Oratorio Society while at Calvin, then he and Ann attended the performances of the Messiah every year until COVID.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to Living Stones Academy or to the Fuller Avenue Church food pantry.
