He was predeceased by: his mother Nellie Fortner; and his grandson Zachary Fortner. He is survived by: his father Keith Fortner; his wife Connie Alston; his children, John Fortner (Shari) and Brenda Freeman (Steven); his grandchildren, Nate, Nick and Amanda Fortner; his stepchildren, Erik Alston (Bethany) and Katrina Johnson (Taylor); his stepgrandchildren, Landon Alston, Kaylie Alston, Isla Johnson and Jett Johnson; his siblings, Mike Fortner (Kathy) and Carol; his half-sister Debbie; his stepsister Kay (John); and also Linda.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Leavenworth Festhalle Civic Center (1001 Front St, Leavenworth, WA 98826).
In lieu of flowers, friends and family who wish to make memorial donations in Tom's name may donate to the Washington Trails Association to help maintain the trails he loved to hike so much.
