Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Richard for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Ward and Pearle Ward (Gillikin). He is survived by: his wife Maryanne Beukelman; his children, Nathan Ward (Diana) and Christina Alvarez (Ben); his granddaughters, Lila and Maya; and his sister Elizabeth Ortman.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Mount Vernon 1st United Methodist Church (1607 E Division St, Mount Vernon, WA 98274).
Memorial gifts may be made to Mount Vernon 1st United Methodist Church or to Hospice of the Northwest, which provided such wonderful care and support in his last days.
