He is survived by: his sister-in-law Lynette Bruett; his nephew Ryan Bruett; his niece Dr. Anna Hedstrom; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Heather Smith and Ashley Van Dyk; his children-in-law, Dr. Bryan Smith and Kristen Van Dyk; his grandsons, Ewan, Harrison McCrae, Will and Luke Van Dyk; Adam Van Dyk.
