He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Harrison Carter and Edna Mae Brewer Carter; and his brother Gerald "Zeke" Carter. He is survived by: his wife Vicki Carter; his siblings, Donald Carter, Michael Linn and Sandy Meyers; his children, Sheila Rowell, Polly Carter, Barbi Carter and Matthew Carter; and his stepchildren, David Bernard and Holly Bernard.
He would play at all of the local venues and anytime he was asked to play for a charity he was willing and ready.
