She was predeceased by: her parents, William Schoy and Marion Schoy Velter; and her husband Gustave Slack III. She is survived by: her son David Slack; her daughter-in-law Christine Slack; her daughter Johanna Louise Rae; her sisters-in-law, Carol Schoy and Sally Schoy; and her grandchildren, Kane Rae, Leah Brisbane, Rachel Rae and Nate Rae.
Amongst other positions, Janet notably worked as a physical therapy assistant at Caritas Christi Motherhouse for the retired sisters of charity at Seton Hill.
