She was predeceased by : her father Wilhelm Qvigstad; and her uncle Jaltar Helmersen. She is survived by : her husband Jeff Fishel; her children, Gabriel and AnnElise; her mother Kirsten Qvigstad; her siblings, Nils Qvigstad (Joan) and Tina Baumgartner; her aunt Hanna Helmersen; her sisters-in-law, Morgan Barry (Bill) and Lee Fertitta; her nephews, Karl (Becca), Kory Qvigstad (Mandy), Joseph Stryker, Josh Barry (Kosue), Toby, Jacob and Timothy Fishel; her niece Stef Fertitta; and her great-nephew Nolan Qvigstad.

She owned two kimonos, which she wore while studying and performing tea ceremony with the Urasenke Foundation in the tea house in the University Arboretum's Japanese Garden, in Seattle.
