He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilario De Leon Valdez and Anastacia Gomez Moreno; his wife Olga Estela Garza Gonzalez; and his brothers, Rafael De Leon and Nicanor De Leon.

He is survived by: his children, Adolfo De León (Maria), Diana Valdez (Cornelio), Amando De León (Beatrice) and Norma Juarez (Adam); and his siblings, Agustina De Leon, Noelia Moreno, Saul De Leon and Javier De Leon. He is also survived by 38 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
