He was predeceased by: his wife Mildred Woolery Baldwin; his parents, Roy and Ida; his siblings, Walter and Eva; his brother-in-law Everett Smith; and his in-laws, Lela and Ralph Woolery.

He is survived by: his children, Gene Baldwin and Yuvonna Baldwin; and his grandchildren, Cerissa, Jeffrey and Jeremy. He is also survived by 3 great Nieces, 3 great Nephews, 10 great great Nieces.

“I knew Vernal and Mildred through the Othello church. Both worked on many committees within the church & helped people whenever they could. I am sorry to read of Vernal's passing but know he is in heaven now with Mildred & playing/singing with his guitar. It is hard to say goodbye to parents but it is comforting to know they are now in heaven. Gene & Yuvonna, I saw you both in church years ago & wanted to let you know I am praying for comfort for your family during this time of sorrow.”
