She was predeceased by: her husband Jovedencio Alegre; and her brothers, Gregorio Reguindin and Arturo Reguindin. She is survived by: her children, Susan Alegre Rostrata, Brenda Alegre Potthoff, Eduardo Alegre, Ethelbert Alegre, Jackie Alegre Asuelo, Ferdinand Alegre and Marites Alegre.
Maria wanted to go back home to the Philippines but the pandemic prevented her from doing so.
