She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Hitt and Thelma Hitt; her siblings, Marceline, Marcella, Mildred, Genevieve, Nina, Adrian, Glenford (Toby) and Keith; and her former husband RJ Mazzarella (Rudy).
She is survived by: her children, Jeff Mazzarella (Brandi) of Phoenix, AZ, Beverly Mazzarella of Point Roberts and Deborah Mazzarella of Williamsburg, Virginia.; and her grandchildren, Carter, Haydn, Cammie Smith, Alexandria Schroder (Ali), Jackson Livanec and Giuliana Grace Mazzarella (Gigi). She is also survived by nieces, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Cincinnati Children's Hospital be made in Joy's name.
