James Edward Thummel Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Edward Thummel of Pullman, Washington, who passed away on May 23, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. As James departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though James may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy James leaves behind.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thummel and Agatha Thummel (Meier); and his sister Eileen Cruise. He is survived by: his wife Kathy of Pullman; his son Gregg; and his brothers, Dave Thummel (Sally) and Dan Thummel (Sandy). He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Independent Living Social Hall at Bishop Place (811 SE Klemgard St, Pullman, WA 99163).
