She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Hattrup and Kathryn Hattrup (Grieser); her husband Leo Schmidt; her granddaughter Robin Nelson; her sons-in-law, Rick Anderson and Glen Ellsworth; her stepgrandchildren, Ken Ellsworth and Cindi Berg; and her siblings, Don Hattrup (Bette), Robert Hattrup (Helen) and Ann McLaughlin (John).
She is survived by: her children, Carol Ellsworth, Sherry Schmidt (Larry Lapidus), Kathryn Peterson (Michael), Colleen Boone (Timothy), Greg Schmidt (Glenda) and Holly Neilbergs (Joseph Shannon); her grandchildren, Wendy Nelson (Tony Griffith), Shannon Nelson, Cory (Amy), Ruby (Chii Hui), Rosie, Greyson Peterson, Moses Boone (Elizabeth), Monica Shoemaker, Emily Boone, Tyson Schmidt (Sunny), Casey Schmidt (Carolee), Hannah Hartz (Drew) and Ian Neilbergs; her stepgrandchildren, David Ellsworth, Ariel and Genevieve Lapidus; and her sister-in-law Agnes Ludwig. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (440 NE Ash St, Pullman, WA 99163). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
