He was predeceased by: his parents, Susie Thompson and Rupert Beatty; his wife Yvonne F. Taylor; his siblings, Lafayette Owens, Elree Beatty and Johnnymae Jackson; and his grandchildren, Catherine Sumiye Yasutake and Cecil Beatty-Yasutake.

He is survived by: his daughters, Phyllis Yasutake (John Yasutake) and Pamela Beatty-Holtby (Michael Holtby); his grandchildren, Amy Beatty-Yasutake, John Michael Yasutake, Tamao Yasutake, Felisa Yasutake (Omri Younker), Carter Yasutake and Pamela Yasutake-Green (Kevin Green); and his great grandchildren, Aliceon Yasutake, Keone Yasutake, Barrett Anderson, Kayin Beatty-Yasutake, Samuel Hay-Yasutake and Zohar Younker. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
