She is survived by: her daughters, Katie Jane McAteer (Diane) of Seattle and Sara Elizabeth Carey (McAteer) of Huntersville; her grandchildren, Alexander, Wyatt and Madelyn Carey; and her sisters, Sue Messier of Chiang Mai and Lani Richards of East Nassau. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends.
Memorial donations may be made in Diane's honor to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, whose dedicated team supported her care from October 2022 through April 2026, or to EvergreenHealth Hospice Center, whose compassionate staff provided comfort and support during her final days.
