He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillian and Vivian (Gyp); his wife Mary; his son Michael; and his brother Richard.
He is survived by: his sons, Steve (Carol) of Seattle, Pete (Lydia) of Burbank, Paul (Gina) of Santa Rosa and Tom of Edmonds. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In 1997, he became a founding member of the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation, helping shape fair and ethical practices in construction projects around the world.
