He was predeceased by: his parents, John James Callaghan and Dorothy Claire (Donlan); and his sister Nancy Claire (Nancy Lea). He is survived by: the mother of his children Carole Badgley; his children, John Charles (Cynthia), J. Kevin (Patty), C. Leigh (Rommie), Mark B. (Erin), Maria Cahoon (Kevin) and Nancy; Robert Birkeland (Sarah), Mary Douglas (Doyle) and Christopher Birkeland. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
