He was predeceased by: his parents, Garry Merritt and Marlene Merritt (Mitchell); and his grandparents, Ralph, Peggy Merritt, Clyde and Pauline Mitchell.
He is survived by: his wife Tamie Johnson Merritt of Oregon; his sons, Zack Merritt of Washington State and Nick Merrit of Oregon; his sister Leaha Merritt Lindsey; and his aunt Becky Griswold of Oregonia. He is also survived by several cousins and his many friends.
