She was predeceased by: her husband Eugene Shapiro; and her parents, Julius Goodman and Tessie Goodman. She is survived by: her sons, Steven, Adam and Michael; her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Eric, Emeline, Serena, Jordan and Shai; and her children-in-law, Wendy, Michelle, Kerry, Cindy and Alisa.

We would meet at Panera's in Westfield and talk about many things: family, books, writing. She was always a wise counsel and always non-judgemental. She demonstrated kindness to all and was an intelligent and strong woman, attending many writers conferences where she perfected her own craft of writing. We shared a love of the written word, both as writers and readers.”
