He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Merlino and Louise Merlino; and his brother Ernest Merlino. He is survived by: his wife Madeline; his sister Lena Morel; his children, Joseph (Mary), Greg (Janice) and Michelle Merlino (David Payne); his grandchildren, Michael Merlino (Joseph), Christopher Merlino (Joseph), Marc Thomas (Michelle), Jennifer Gelsleichter (Michelle), Sophia and Jane Merlino (Greg); and his great grandchildren, Kara, Leo, Luca Merlino (Christopher), Westen, Ali Gelsleichter (Doug) and Landon Thomas (Marc Thomas). He is also survived by his two sons, son in-law.
