Rhys Eoghen Hulbert, age 36 (Birth name David Paul Giguere) known affectionately as Eoghen, lived a life that was as vibrant and dynamic as the trails and mountains of Washington he so loved to explore. Born on April 30, 1988, in Worcester, MA. His journey came to an unforeseen end on January 18, 2025, in Washington, where he passed tragically at home.
Eoghen's departure has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him, yet his legacy endures through the lives he touched with his warmth and wisdom. Family was the cornerstone of Eoghen's life.
He was the cherished son of Pamela (Giguere) Eichler and stepson to Hadley Eichler of Douglas, Massachusetts. His beloved grandmother, Lois Giguere of Worcester, helped shape the man he became. His grandfather Wilfred H. Giguere passed in 1985. Eoghen leaves behind many siblings: Alexander Bates, Calvin, Alyssa, Dylan, Brendan, and Ryan, who shared in his triumphs and challenges. His Aunt Lisa Giguere, Uncle's William Giguere of Worcester, and the late David Giguere of Millbury. His cousin Brittany Field of Connecticut, a nephew Austin Bates, and niece Emilyann Bates.
Eoghen's quest for knowledge was insatiable. He graduated from South High School in Worcester, Massachusetts, before pursuing higher education with fervor and dedication. He earned an Associate's Degree in Science Computer Information Technology and a Bachelor's Degree in Arts Information Technology from Southern New Hampshire University. From the serene trails of Washington to the furthest reaches of the globe, he traveled with an open heart and mind, seeking to immerse himself in the cultures and languages. His passion for learning extended to his Irish dialect. Eoghen was a voracious reader, always on the quest for the next great book that would challenge his intellect and broaden his horizons. Eoghen's love for all creatures great and small was evident in every encounter. His gentle spirit and kindness made him a friend to animals everywhere. This compassion was a testament to his generous nature, as he sought to make the world a better place for both humans and animals alike.
His generosity knew no bounds; he gave not just material gifts but the gift of his presence, his time, and his unwavering support. Let us honor Eoghen's memory by embodying the qualities he exemplified: love that knows no limits, intelligence that seeks to understand, and generosity that uplifts others. May we carry his spirit with us as we venture forth on our own paths, forever guided by his light. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, Rhys Eoghen Hulbert's spirit will continue to motivate and inspire, just as the mountains of Washington stand timeless and majestic, echoing his enduring legacy.
