We are sad to announce that on January 14, 2023, at the age of 91, Richard James Ashby of Seattle, Washington, born in San Francisco, California passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his son Douglas J. Ashby; and his parents, John L. Ashby and Florence "Dolly" Ashby. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn K. Ashby; his daughter Vicki R. Ashby of Renton; his brother Donald Ashby (Bobbie) of Everett; his stepchildren, Lori Davis (Ron) of Belfair, Frank Jones of Seattle and Shari McAuliffe (Mike) of Lake Stevens; his grandchildren, Christopher McAuliffe (Rosalie) of Snohomish and Andi Allison (Caleb) of Puyallup; his great grandchildren, Emmy, Kene, Sawyer, Noah and Piper; his nephews, Larry, Scott and Bryan Ashby (Mike); and his former wife Mary Ashby-Johnson of Renton.
Because of his love of dogs, the family suggests donations in his memory to Pasado's Safe Haven rescue or Seattle Humane Society, or to the Dementia Society of America.
