She is survived by: her children, Paul Bruecher (Joyce), Kevin Bruecher (Barbara), Ellen Comeaux (Kevin) and Eileen Burke (Daniel); her grandchildren, Justin, Calvin, Trevor, Natalie Bruecher, Riley Comeaux, Amanda Burke (Paul Rhee), Shannon Burke Stenvik (Dylan) and Conor Burke; and her siblings, Maurice Young (Barbara), Martha Marx (Tom) and Frances Hansen (Mike). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.

During the Covid pandemic, Ruth took to sewing hundreds of masks for the residents in her senior living complex.
