He was predeceased by: his mother Evelyn Somers (Rasmussen); his brothers, Ronald and Rodney; and his nephews, Darron and Chad Cannedy.

He is survived by: his father Herold Somers; his wife Debbie; his children, Denise Mildren (Dan), Tracey DeRoos (Greg), Josh Somers (Brandy) and Nikki Scherzinger (Brent); his grandchildren, Emma, Elijah Mildren (Addison), Lindsay, Trent, Lauren DeRoos, Sydney O'Brien (Kyle), Hayden Harshfield, Lincoln, Adelyn and Luke Scherzinger; his great grandchildren, Preslee and Oaklee O'Brien; and his siblings, Betty Cannedy and Bruce Somers (Cynthia). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
