She was predeceased by: her parents, Sarah Marie Bell Lay and John Oliver Lay, Jr.; her brothers, Lynval and Robert Lay; and her husband Roy MacDonald.
She is survived by: her brother John Richard Lay; her great grandchild Curt (Barbara); her son Jeffrey Simmons (Jillian); her grandchildren, Aiden Barajas of Birmingham, Alabama, Jayce Simmons of Birmingham, Alabama and Mistie MacDonald; her great grandchild Lexi Varner of Spokane, Washington; her granddaughter Shawna MacDonald of Vail, Colorado.; and also Tegan Saxton (David) of Albuquerque. She is also survived by her three sons, and several grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Helen suggested donations to the Kootenai County Genealogical Society.
