He was predeceased by: his adoptive parents, Christian LeRoy Peterson and Anna Nell; his former wife Joyce Beazer; and his son Kenneth James. He is survived by: his wife Colleen Sonnemaker; his children, Kathryn Anne (Michael Agrelius), Brad Elliot (Jeanne), Christopher LeRoy, Tamara Joyce (Kevin Harper), Richard Sonnemaker (Keesha) and Katie Denton; and his siblings, Bethene, Joyce, Eugene, Floyd Cosner, Imogene, Darlene, Maggie (Bob Forwood) and Dan Cosner (Dianna). He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Viewing will be held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Riplinger Funeral Home and Crematory (4305 N Division St, Spokane, WA 99207). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (2112 W Francis Ave, Spokane, WA 99205). A burial will be held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Fairmount Memorial Park (5200 W Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA 99205).
