He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Palmquist and Margaret Palmquist; and his sister Marta. He is survived by: his wife Laurie; his sons, Mitchell (Laura), Caleb (Lorelei) and Clayton (Miranda); his grandchildren, Serafina, Genevieve, David, Ellinore, Bernadette, Catherine, Moss and James; and his siblings, Stan, Peggy, Bob, Kathy, Ginger and Mary.
A rosary was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the St. Mary Presentation Catholic Church (602 E 6th St, Deer Park, WA 99006). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A reception was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the soon to be developed Joe Palmquist Endowment for Local Journalism.
