He was loved and cherished by many people including: his uncle Pete; his aunt Ann; his wife Anna; his children, Wayne Schakel (Corinne), Ron Schakel, Renee Barrie (Shane) and Dennis Schakel (Kim); and his grandchildren, Megan Moss (Allen), Cole Barrie, Grant Barrie, Lauren Barrie, Molly Schakel and Arie Schakel. He was also cherished by his loving family and many friends.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cascade Christian Reformed Church (13908 51st Ave NE, Marysville, WA 98271).
