She was predeceased by: her parents, Ingebrigt Smistad and Willa Smistad (Kenneth Chandler); and her son Michael Chandler. She is survived by: her brothers, Olav Smistad and John Smistad (Jana); her sons, Mark Chandler (Susanne) and Steven Chandler (Heather); and her granddaughters, Rachael Vaniski (Norman), Michelle Grandy (Craig), Stevie Chandler (Luke) and Nina Chandler. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Elsie's memory be made to the Sons of Norway, Fritjov Lodge, No. 17 of Stanwood.
