He was predeceased by: his parents, Royce Shahan and Sherry Shahan; his son Justin; and his sister Dawn. He is survived by: his former wife Rita Bruins; his son Reid of Dusty; his former spouse Kim Straight; his sons, Jeremy (Kori) of Helena and Jacob (Keisha) of Spokane; his sister Mikelyn Getz; and his grandchildren, Lincoln, Max Shahan, Kali, Caden, Kenna Johns, Harper, Declan, Crue, Obi Shahan, Kennedy Ritter, Piper and Paige Shahan.
The family requests donations be made to the Steptoe Fire department or St Judes hospital in lieu of flowers.
