He is survived by: his father Manuel Zapien; his wife Elojia Aurora Abitia (Dora); his children, Dan Zapien (Trish), Barb Taubenheim (Jim), Ray Zapien (Carmen), Mike Zapien (Deanna), Dave Zapien (Stephanie) and Jamie Zapien (Darcey); and his siblings, Virginia Abitia and Jimmy Zapien. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
