She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Harrison Saunders and Elsie Corinna Saunders (VanDeMark); her sister Patricia; her son Jamie Chivers; and her half-brother Michael Saunders.

She is survived by: her husband Hubert Eugene Whitworth Jr.; her daughters, Elinor Whitworth, Judith Smith and Karen Medel (Anthony); and her nieces and nephews, Sarah (Miles), Cori, Ricky and Bob.
