He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Olsen Uthus and Esther Pedersen Uthus. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Uthus of University Place, WA; and his children, Valerie Moehring (Robert) of Seattle, WA, Jennifer Joyce of Gig Harbor, WA, Carolyn Rice (Stephen) of Scottsdale, AZ, Carl Uthus (Claudine) of North Andover, MA and John Uthus (Cathy) of Tacoma, WA. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Earl's name to the Salvation Army Tacoma.
