He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus Ervin and Elizabeth Ervin; his daughters, Sharon Ervin and June Ervin; his siblings, Gertrude Henderson, Doc and James Ervin; and his grandson Justin Ervin.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Ervin; his children, Lynda Thomas, Carrol Wright, Clinnion Baker and Ken Ervin; his nieces, Carolyn, Beatrice, Dianne, Sharron and Virginia; and his nephew Lonnie (Richard Joseph).
Fred spent time in his garden which produced Collard Green Trees, he donated to the local church food banks, always found ways to serve the community through donating his time, and even kept up an early morning paper route just to stay connected to the communities.
