He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Jane Traylor Quarles and Joe B. Quarles; and his grandparents, Jessie and John. He is survived by: his siblings, Cleveland, Ruth, Inez, Charles and Dorothy; his wife Mary Louise Parks Quarles; his children, Kenneth Merrill Quarles and Myra Louise Johnson (Ed Parker); his grandchildren, Cortland James Quarles (Heather Quarles), Quiara Louise Johnson and Quiana Lenora Johnson; his great grandchildren, Brycen Cole Walker and Colsen John Quarles; his siblings, James Quarles, Helen Quarles, Florence Wilson and Thelma Christopher; and his brother-in-law Curtis Parks (Pat Parks). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Chambers Creek Chapel (9221 Chambers Creek Rd W, Tacoma, WA 98467). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the New Tacoma Cemetery (9221 Chambers Creek Rd W, Tacoma, WA 98467).
