He was predeceased by: his son Michael Valadez; his parents, Lauro Valadez and Joséfina Flores; his grandparents, Cleofas Valadez and Melquiadez Valadez; his aunt Guillermina Valadez; and his siblings, Jesus, Armando Valadez and Dora Canchola.
He is survived by: his wife Christina Valadez; and his sons, Joseph, Matthew, Ricardo and Victor Valadez. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
